A bed bench at the end of the bed is one of the hardworking unsung heros of the bedroom. Today we are going to celebrate the bed bench by showing photos of a fabulous King Henry bed bench in our customer's bedroom.

Bed Bench, King Henry Bed BenchAnne F. in Texas bought this handsome new King Henry style end of the bed bench from us. The antique-inspired bench is beautifully crafted with a solid wood construction that has a rustic pecan finish. (This bench is also available with an antiqued white finish.) The eye is drawn down to the gorgeous curvy stretchers crowned with bold finials. Reeded detail on the stretchers add another touch of elegance.  Here's how it looks in Anne's bedroom:

"It's perfect! Just beautiful," said Anne in her email to us, and we agree! It works perfectly in Anne's pretty bedroom and it's a great match for the bed. The neutral fabric upholstery on the seat is tufted to enhance the traditional appeal and bring yet more comfort and luxury into the bedroom. Everyone thinks about armoires, dressing tables, chests of drawers and of course beds as the stars of the bedroom, but a bed bench is not only highly useful, it often adds the icing on the cake by making the room look more finished.

When you add a bed bench to your bedroom, you'll soon be wondering how you ever lived without it! It's the perfect place to sit down and put on your socks or shoes, or perhaps pause a while to take a phone call without messing up your tidily made bed!

When choosing a bed bench, you want to pick one that is slightly narrower than your bed, as Anne has done, and as a rule of thumb you probably want a bench that is slightly lower than the bed too.

Thank you Anne for sending the photographs. We are so delighted to see how fabulous the bed bench looks in your home. Those curvy stretchers really do add a very refined decorative touch!

Why Bed Benches?

A quality bedroom bench is an incredibly versatile piece of furniture. Whether you're looking for something to add comfort, such as an upholstered bench, or something practical such as a storage bench, this furniture type can meet any needs. Some of them are so pretty you'll want to put one in your living room, or in your hall as an entryway bench! The materials often used for these pieces are incredible. Things like acrylics, dark brown oak, birch wood and genuine leather are all common choices for material. You could also get something with faux leather or linen upholstery. Others feature a metal frame, crafted from metals such as stainless steel. Of course, you could also get a regular wood bench too!

Putting a quality upholstered storage bench or accent bench at the foot of your bed is a great way to overhaul your interior design. On top of that, it provides functionality to make your life easier via storage space! From nailhead trim to tufting, from Mid-Century Modern styling to Victorian glam, you'll find that they're built to impress.
