Antique Furniture at Vine & Roses Bed and Breakfast in Walla Walla, WA
You know we work with individuals to help them furnish their homes with fine antiques, but did you know we also work with bed and breakfast owners?
Kathy and Tim Sinclair purchased a stunningly beautiful Victorian mansion in Walla Walla, Washington, which they renovated into the Vine and Roses Bed & Breakfast. Then they called on Greg and I to help them furnish it with authentic period antiques. We even found specific pieces for them in Europe to fit the dimensions of various spaces.
Kathy and Tim also own Sinclair Estate Vineyards, so "Vine and Roses" was an apt name for their bed and breakfast!
Among the pieces we sourced for them was this gorgeous antique hunt board, or server, with marble top, which fits beautifully next to the stairs. Hunt boards originated with the elaborate hunts held by Victorian lords and estate owners. Estate staff would lay out a spread of cheeses, meats, or perhaps fruit, along with some fine whiskey of course, for riders returning from the hunt.
This lovely French Country dresser vanity works well in this guest bathroom with its lovely floral wallpaper.
And this antique wardrobe cabinet, or armoire, with mirrored door provides a place for guests to hang their clothes. You get a glimpse of the "b and b in progress" in this photo: In the mirror's reflection, you can see the bed linens still lay piled on the bed frame!
We had a blast working with Kathy and Tim! If you're renovating a Victorian home, whether to convert it to a bed and breakfast or not, we'll love working with you, too.
