Louis XV Vanity Chest of Drawers

Vintage Louis XV Vanity ChestInterior designer Debbie at DMS Interiors in Sarasota, FL, found our Houzz.com listing for this pretty vintage Louis XV marble-top vanity chest of drawers with mirror.

Debbie thought it was the perfect fit for her client's project in Sarasota. The family wanted to change one of their guest rooms to have a bit more of a feminine aesthetic for a new guest, a close friend of the daughter.

Rococo Style Chest of Drawers

The 1930 vintage French Rococo mahogany chest of drawers with its beautiful white marble top, charming ornate metal handles, curvy shaping and scrolled feet was a wonderful touch for the room!

As the daughter's friend was arriving the following week, Debbie wanted to know if we could expedite the shipping rather than take the normal three or four week time frame for white glove delivery. We always try to do everything we can for our customers so we decided to make it happen! Customer home in FloridaDelivering antique furniture We left early in the morning and made it to the family’s address in Sarasota just before 7 pm. The client's home has a gorgeous view of the water and quite a wonderful pool too. The guest bedroom is upstairs to the right, overlooking the pool. However, the flight of 20 steps was a bit of work with such a heavy vintage vanity chest of drawers!

Luckily the marble and mirror come off the chest for safe transport. Greg and I took out the drawers too to make it a bit more manageable for me. I may only be 5 foot 2 inches, but I can carry furniture when I need to!

Solid Furniture

We hefted it up the stairs and put it in place, where it will enjoy a beautiful view for years to come. This is such a delightful room and the Louis XV vanity chest of drawers looks terrific. This is the view from the house:

Since we were in Florida, Greg and I decided to visit Disney's Magic Kingdom in Orlando before heading home. Greg went with family when he was two years old, so he didn't remember much. I grew up in Florida and have been many times, but a day at Disney is always fun. We hit all the highlights - Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion (Greg's favorite), Jungle Cruise and my favorite, the Enchanted Tiki Room.

Disney's Magic Kingdom in Orlando

Much has changed in Fantasy Land since I was there last year, and the changes were interesting to see. My secret tip if you happen to be traveling to Disney, is to stop in Gatson's Tavern in Fantasy Land. They have created a very delicious apple cider slush drink called LeFou's Brew that is not to be missed on a hot Florida day!

Chest of Drawers Styles

There are many different styles of drawer dresser to choose from. From Georgian to Victorian, Art Deco to Chippendale, you'll be impressed by the function and beauty of the piece. Other styles include Regency, French Country, Serpentine, George III, Mid-Century Modern and Louis XV style.  A solid wood crafted piece of furniture(an oak chest, for example) is a great way to complement your existing furniture, such as your sideboards or even living room furniture. Design choices such as bow fronts, lacquers and inlays add an extra splash of style.
