Ambella Home Aspen Sideboard

I've often admired the Ambella Home Aspen sideboard that we sell, because it's so handsome and chunky and rugged. It's a James Bond of a sideboard! So I was delighted when our customer Amy B. in Wichita, KS, got in touch to tell us about the Ambella Home Aspen sideboard that she bought from us earlier this year. Before I show you how amazing Amy made the sideboard look, let me tell you a bit about the sideboard itself.

This is the Ambella Home brochure photo of the sideboard, and I like it because it's dressed with charming blue and white ceramics. (We are big fans of antique and vintage blue and white Delft ceramics in the gallery.)Ambella Home Aspen Sideboard

The antique-inspired sideboard looks old but it's newly crafted by Ambella Home artisans for the Aspen collection. When I think of the Rocky Mountain ski town of Aspen, Colorado, I also think of handsome and chunky and rugged. There's just no getting away from it!

Ambella Home Aspen Sideboard Details

A Quality Sideboard

The Ambella Home Aspen sideboard is carved from solid hardwood with an oak veneer top. It has a rich mahogany finish that gives a lot of depth and visual interest and adds to the sense of substance.

You can see from this close-up that every detail is beautifully crafted. Ambella Home furniture-makers are very skilled at giving an aged finish to make the sideboard look like a genuine antique. They also fit the furniture with nice antique-look handles and hinges, and the sturdy nailheads stand out against the planked wood.

So now let's see how the sideboard looks in Amy's house. Amy bought the piece in January but she wanted to finish up accessorizing it and putting the final touches on her decor before she sent a photo to us. Ambella Home Aspen Sideboard

Home Decor Done Right

Wow! What a phenomenal job! I love how Amy tied the black wrought iron candle holders above the black TV screen with the table lamps, and even the black light switch! This is such a sensuous but sophisticated arrangement. It would create a wonderful focal point in an alcove or nook. And (if you take out the TV screen and electric lamps) I defy anyone to say this tableau couldn't have appeared in an Old World house a few hundred years ago - especially a Spanish Mission style house. It's just so evocative.  Thanks Amy for sharing your lovely photo! To learn about one of our favorite styles, check out this post here!
